Basically I want to sell a group of products like a kit at a discounted price or offer. So the customer selects the BUNDLE item and it puts the individual items in the cart at the discount off cart total price.
Here is how I see it working.
- I would have a Shopify product that is set up as NOT A PHYSICAL PRODUCT. Nice images of Grouping and Special Group Pricing.
- You would have a RULE buy A get B,C,D,etc… ('A' would be the Dummy product in step 1)
- You would have a second Rule when A,B,C,D is in the cart together discount A by 100% and the cart by $
- When you transfer items for check out A would not go it would get dropped from the cart. B,C,D etc would still get cart discount
- If they happen to go back the Cart would hold their price as long as B,C,D, etc where still all together in the cart.
(The reason we do not want to just sell a single line item of the kit has to do with the fulfillment side. We still need to pick the individual items and account for them as normal.)

This is similar to my request, albeit mine is a simpler change to get a very similar outcome. We use it for outfit promotions. Eg:
Buy all the items to build your outfit, get X product free.
Buy a Jacket & Pant & Shoes, Get a tee shirt free.
Really great promotion for lifting AOV and IPS!

It would be helpful to be able to create a gift pack, e.g. 3 wines in one holiday package, with a discounted price for the 3-pack.

Bundle functionality would be brilliant - we're having to use Simple Bundles at the moment but it constantly clashes with Discount Ninja so having everything in one system would be a lot easier and should eliminate a lot of the errors we're experiencing. Just have a promotion option "Bundle" and copy Shopify Bundles or Simple Bundles functionality.

This is really needed! The problem currently with DN is that you can't state that a customer has to buy ONE OF EACH of the required products to get the discount. We can only set the discount to apply if a user buys a certain amount of products from a selection of products, but not specifically state that it needs to be one of each.
If DN could implement a feature that helps us setup a bundle/kit of products with an offer attached to it (like a discount or free gift) that would be great!set up

Bart Coppens: Another way I have found to make bundling work without an app is to set up an alternate product template which looks like the bundle, but isn't actually a real product, and use metafields with product ids to populate the cart when the ATC button is pressed.
Works well - you can see it here (I have Shopify Automatic Discount doing the discounting here): https://aussieskier.com/products/k2-sight-skis-bindings-package - the 'product' you are adding to cart doesn't exist, it just adds the bundle component items to cart.
Then I would like Discount Ninja to be able to handle the discount part, ie discount 10% when A, B and C are added to cart, but then only scale the discount if 2x or 3x if ALL of A, B and C are added to cart. If the cart has 2x A, 1x B and 1x C, the second item of A should not be discounted.

It would be good that the discount is calculated according to the original price, no matter what rule is running, it would be the easiest way to calculate the price.
